Alice of the Undead....

I finished my zombie challenge.....

I love how she turned out...but learned a valuable lesson.  Her head is super heavy.  Next time I try to make a doll with paper clay, I'll form it around a ball of tinfoil.  (I was lazy and skipped that step.....)   

I thought the paperclay would be really difficult to work with but it wasn't.  I didn't care that her head wasn't perfectly round or had ridges.  I just smoothed her head out with an emery board.
Yes, I go super "high tech" here ladies!

Now I can turn my attention to the annual ornament swap....stay tuned!

Rose

 

   Rose finally made it! She decided to roam the country side spreading her flowery zombieness before returning to Utah and a surprised Susan K. Before the zombie apocalypse Rose was the director of the garden chorus now she sings no more...

   Isn't the table runner nifty?! It's the perfect length for my dining table and it looks great with a few of my DoD figures. Yippie!

The Great Pumpkin Patch

I wanted to share my pumpkin patch with all of you...since you helped create it!

First we have The White Rabbit from Jill,  Little Red from Kerry and The Mad Hatter from Debbie!

Then we have a mummy zombie from the first ever zombie doll swap I hosted

And here we have Dorothy from Spring.  I created for myself mini Raggedy Ann and Griselda.

I haven't finished the leaves on some of the larger pumpkins....and I need to put some black cloth on the mirror...but you can get the idea of what it will look like come October.

Apparently zombie dolls are like Lay's potato chips....you can't have just one!

Malice has come home!

My zombie package arrived yesterday afternoon – as I was on my way out the door to go to dinner so I quickly ran inside and opened the box and found the most amazing Alice, I mean Malice in Wonderland! She is awesome and scary and I love her!

Not only did Malice arrive safely but she arrived with the coolest little birdhouse I have ever seen, complete with a base full of eyeballs! So, creepy, cool!

To round off this sweet package of zombie goodness are a set of 3 Halloween ornaments spelling out the word BOO.

Thank you Melinda, Malice is amazing and I just love everything you sent! You made my day!! Soooo, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The Hatter is Spectacular!

Mr. Hatter flew in today.  As I drove up to the house, I could see his box thumping across my front porch.  Kaela quickly jumped out to snatch it up before it fell off and into a puddle!

I ripped off the wrapping and....lookie lookie!  The Hatter and lots of goodies....including a handcrafted pumpkin for my Halloween tree.

Doomed

Dear Caretaker,

Today I heard a new type of groaning from the box with the boys.   I grew concerned and thought I'd take a peek.  I peeled off the tape and.....

The HORRORS!   

Dead is now Deader and Deader is now Dead.   It seems that Deader lost a battle AND his head.  No, that isn't right.  He HAS his head.  He lost the rest of him....for the most part, now he is JUST a head.   

In order to combat more cannatwinism, I took drastic measures and threw in numerous lizards.   They are swift creatures and should give Dead a run for his money....even in a small box.   I included a small brain for Deader and glued it shut so Dead couldn't figure out how to open it....he ain't too bright these days!  Please feed Deader on arrival.  Afterall, he has no arms.......

They will be on their way shortly, I do hope the postman is swift in delivering them to your doorstep......or all that will be left of the lizards are their eyes......

PS.   I took the tape off the outside of the package.  Our postal service has had a run of package "abductions" and I didn't want Dead and Deader to end up "lost."

twin troubles

Unlike most of you, I had NO trouble getting the boys into their shipping box.   Becoming a zombie is tough and they still aren't feeling too well... and are moving rather slowly.   

I just hope I put enough snacks in there to keep them both happy.....and well fed.    
I certainly want them BOTH to arrive as unscathed as possible.   I was hearing all sorts of arguing from within the box which has me worried.  "Stop biting me!" was the main thing I kept hearing.   Of course, it was sort of muffled and there was additional groaning but I know I heard the word BITE more than once.   (I would hate it if someone lost a limb or resorted to cannitwinism.)

 I just wonder WHO will prevail if a fight actually does break out between those two.

I'm okay,

   but one of the Queens knights didn't make it, he "volunteered" to distract the Zombie while I snuck up behind it and boxed it up. It was quite a struggle but I had determination and lots of tape on my side. The cats are freaked and hiding, they won't go in the kitchen because of all the commotion and bouncing coming from the box. I'm hoping the snack it had will calm it down soon.

Sneak Peek… Zombie in Wonderland -– Cross Post

I never realized how much fun it was to create zombies. Last time I made a zombie doll it was the Zombie Red Riding Hood complete with basket of wolf parts; this time I am making a zombie character from Alice in Wonderland and I love it! I am just about done but I don’t want to show too much until my partner gets to see it.

Sculpting zombies is so freeing! I don’t have to worry about them being perfect which makes them so much fun. I am going to have to make one of these for me. It is just so darn cute, really, wait until I show you the finished zombie, once it is with its new mama.

Here are some progress pictures. I am just about done and I’ll be mailing it to its new home – sigh, I have grown very attached!

I know you can see too much but I don't want to give away the surprise of who it is :0) Only one week to go!

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
Were bullies to the core.
They picked on people young and old
Whenever they got bored.

A sickly crow, lay on the road 
(poor bird, he took a header.)
But staying true to bully form,
They plucked out all his feathers.

Soon Tweedle Dee was feeling odd
And Tweedle Dum no better
It seems they caught the crow's disease
And now are
"Dead" and "Deader."

Maybe one day, I'll get around to making one like her for myself.....so many zombies, so little time!
