Getting Started

I'm just getting started on putting my Witches cupboard together. I've been collecting ideas and items for the last few weeks but just starting creating today. My daughter helped me fill these old canning jars with the goodies we've collected. I have a couple more ideas to add to the cupboard but I need some more time to create. It's back to work tomorrow so the creativity will have to wait for another day. For now this is a start. It's been lots of fun so far!

I have my Halloween swap pkge done!!!

I really had fun with this one...ten dollars is a challenge but I was up to it...Started out with a pile of orange and green fabric scraps, a can of half used black spray paint and twigs...mmmm...made a trip to Joann's, coupon in hand and bought some clear glass balls and purple tulle, then buzzed to the dollar store for spiders and candy corn...This is what I came up with and I love the way it turned out...I never know what I am doing, I just let it take me and this is where I ended up...Hope my witch partner loves it....

A Skelepin giveaway!

To keep us all in the swappin spirit, I thought I'd host a little giveaway for swap members!

How about one of these creepy little skelepins?

Everyone in the swap already gets 'one' chance.
In order to get a second chance, you have to
leave me a comment with the color pin you would like.
In order to get 3 chances, become a follower.

I'll do a drawing on the 25th and mail out the winner their choice.

BTW, keep checking back because I'll be hosting one other giveaway before the 1st!

Hello Kitty

It's not your cute, sparkly, pink, cuddly Hello Kitty...
But it's Ye ole' witches black cat
Who's been hanging 'round out back.
She's on the hunt to bring in all the ghoulish creatures
For the brew to cast a spell or two.

This kitty is ready for Halloween!
She's all stuffed and with a cute autumn ribbon collar.
She's soft to the touch with an arched back.
She's sure to cause a fright!
I think she's cute.

Frank's Fingers.....

FRANK'S FINGERS!

I had this posted on my blog from last Halloween and thought I'd share it with you all here. These cookies are soooooo cute AND they taste great!

I DOUBLE THIS RECIPE...

6 tablespoons softened butter
6 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 beaten egg yolk (important)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
candied cherries

Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolk, vanilla and flour and mix will.
prep the pan with either parchment or spray oil. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

For monster fingers:

add a couple drops of green food coloring into the dough. Then, using a smaller amount of the dough, form it into a cigarette shape. Then sort of squish it on the pan, using the cherry as the fingernail. Take a knife and make 4 little slashes where the knuckle would be.

Here is what they look like before being baked:

You'll get 22-24 monster fingers.

Here is what they look like after!

creepy, but tasty!
