There's a new Alice in town and my voodoo pin cushion...

First of all, I want to say a big thank you to Micki for my new amazingly wicked Alice. She even is holding the very dead white rabbit. Well, his head anyway.
Micki, I am so sorry the chocolate thing happened. I am not going to waste your other Alice though I am just going to use parts of her to make something else! I just adore this new Alice and thank you again.
I

I also finished my Voo Doo pincushion today. I tried to combine the real way of making them (according to the net) along with the  fun feltie thing. I hope my person Loves her.

Now I need to go clean the bright orange paint I spilled all over my beige carpet.....Good times and yes I am a klutz......

He Has A Head !!!!

Oh yes he does ..... as creepy as it is !!!
My White Rabbit is busy drying .... my kids keep making him face the wall - they're not too keen on his face :-) .... I think it's all to do with the open mouth ... wait until they see the "brains" hanging out of it !!!

It's the first time I've molded the paper clay around aluminium foil (for his ears) ..... it worked a charm, and allowed me to "bend" the paper clay. He seems to be drying very slowly, which isn't a bad thing, as that seems to reduce the cracking.
Hopefully I'll get to creating his fabric body and appendages this week, and then it'll be time for my most favorite part ...... designing his outfit !!!  I am very hopeful that he'll be ready in time for Halloween, to take his place among his fellow zombies.
I'll keep you posted ......

coming soon.....

Work continues on my own Alice....

and her "pet"....

Mwah ha ha!

You Better Hope You've Been Nice ......

This pincushion turned out to be a bigger challenge to me than I thought it would be ...... but it's been so much fun, trying to figure it out.
Here's a sneak peek of attempt #5 .... I am very happy with the way it turned out :-)
I just need to put the finishing touches to my tuck ins, and my package will be on its way.
Hope you girls are having lots of creative fun !!!!

EEK !!!!

voodoo who do

My voodoo doll took on a life of it's own and looks more like a zombie than my zombie did (the fact that it lost half it's body in a horrible measuring accident doesn't help). It will be on it's way on the morrow. I hope my secret friend likes 13 pins and a little steampunk.

TTFN,
Chris =]

Well ok, I already made another one.....Zombie that is....

Now here is the question of the day.
Does she go or does she stay.
Raggedy Ann ate her twin
A sorry state she put herself in....................( she may be a tuck in, maybe?)

A little sad........

I'm a little sad that our zombie swap has come to a close!

As I said once before, Zombies are like potato chips....you can't have just one.  That being said, there are a few of us who are still in the mood to create JUST ONE MORE zombie doll for ourselves.
If you'd like to join us, feel free!  The "challenge" is to get it done and blogged about by Halloween.  Sounds easy, right?   Well, not if you try something NEW!

I have not done a doll yet with paper clay but after seeing some, I've decided to give it a try.  Nothing screams "success" like starting a project without the proper supplies, but who cares...this one is mine!

okay, so I realized I needed to add a neck so I would have something to hang clothes on....sort of.

I have NO idea what step to take next....but after a margarita, I'm SURE I'll figure it out!

So, are you in?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Rose

Rose finally made it! She decided to roam the country side spreading her flowery zombieness before returning to Utah and a surprised Susan K. Before the zombie apocalypse Rose was the director of the garden chorus now she sings no more...
Isn't the table runner nifty?! It's the perfect length for my dining table and it looks great with a few of my DoD figures. Yippie!

Thanks Susan it was fun!

THANK YOU SPRING ...

A box arrived at my front door today .... strange sounds were coming from inside it !!!
After carefully opening it up (truth be told, my husband did that honor), The Queen Of Hearts revealed herself ..... The poor Dear, her head is barely hanging on by a thread!!! She's clearly had a rough time in Zombieland.
Along with the Queen came these goodies ....
Some scrapbooking goodies, some burner wax, and a cute little pumpkin lamp.

Thank you Spring for my sweet package ..... The Queen has been pretty calm since arriving .... let's hope it stays that way :-)

Wonderland Alice

I wanted to share My Zombie from Little MESSY MISSY
  She  is so SWEET!'

not for the faint of heart.

Perhaps you know someone,
a naughty girl or boy.
Just beware, this is not a toy.
Pins go out and pins go in.
To rectify and pay for sin.
A liver, a spleen or maybe a heart,
Or maybe just to rip them apart.
Just remember that you will win.
when pins go out and pins go in.

moooohahahhahahhahahahhaha

Confession

I am late sending my thanks to Sarah. The swap package she sent was AMAZING.

Isn't she awesome?

I was very humbled after my disastrous swap was received. Yup. I'm the loser. My swap package was a hot mess and I'm sorry. But I made it right (I hope) and remade my partner a new doll that won't end up covered in chocolate.

I sent Val a quick peek and she agreed Alice part deux was a big improvement.

So please, don't give up on me ;)

1st peek

A HaPpY voodoo doll pincushion?   It's happened again!
I don't seem to be able to help myself.

swappers get swapping!

Okay ladies,

I've emailed everyone their voodoo doll person they send to.   this is a secret swap so feel free to post!

Also, I have 2 open invitations to post on the blog:  Sarah K and Stacie.  Just accept the invite and you can post here too!

This is what I sent...

This is what I sent. I thought I would post some pics.
Alice zombiefied.... I made a coffin to send her in.
Inside I tucked a table with "eat me" cookies, "drink me" bottle and a little key. There were little treasures tucked in the drawers. An old key and a set of playing card glass beads.
I also made her a compact and some homemade cookies.I found a rabbit cookie mold too! Sorry the pics are not the best I just snapped a few for myself before I sent them away. I loved the way Alice turned out. I handmade all her clothes and she is wearing rabbits head around her neck. My partner said she loved the package.

Zobmingo!

I went to the mail box the other day and there was a package addressed to me. I pulled it out and it was making this horrible growl squawking sound.  I quickly ran inside with it so I would not draw attention of my neighbors.  It was wrapped really well. I looked at the box as it wiggled and  growled, almost afraid to open it.  You only live once, right?  Then you become a zombie...

So I open it....

And this is what emerged, hissing and growling at me....

Thank you Chris!!  He will fit in just fine with the band of misfit zombies here and have a very good home!!!

Big smiles...Even bigger teeth!

A big thank you to Jill for the incredible Cheshire Cat zombie doll and gifts!  After several weeks of traveling and visiting family in the Carolinas, I was delighted to return home and tear into this box!  I absolutely love the Cheshire cat with the dangly eye, exposed entrails, and zombie mouse snack!  The doll is beautiful, thank you so much Jill.  He will occupy a special spot in my craft room!  Along with the amazing doll, Jill included an Alice in wonderland keychain, a bag of candy pumpkins...which may already be gone..... and a spooky hand painted eyeball plate.  Once again, thank you Jill.

I am overwhelmed by the talent I have seen on this swap.  I am a first-time swapper here, and a very novice crafter.  Over the past few weeks, I have watched this blog for updates and sneak peeks- and I most certainly felt that I was in the company of some seriously talented artists.  I can only hope that the recipient of the doll I made is half as delighted as I am!  Thank you all for welcoming me into this group.

The Great Pumpkin Patch

I wanted to share my pumpkin patch with all of you...since you helped create it!

First we have The White Rabbit from Jill,  Little Red from Kerry and The Mad Hatter from Debbie!

Then we have a mummy zombie from the first ever zombie doll swap I hosted

And here we have Dorothy from Spring.  I created for myself mini Raggedy Ann and Griselda.

The full view of my Undead group!

I haven't finished the leaves on some of the larger pumpkins....and I need to put some black cloth on the mirror...but you can get the idea of what it will look like come October.

Apparently zombie dolls are like Lay's potato chips....you can't have just one!

Malice has come home!

My zombie package arrived yesterday afternoon – as I was on my way out the door to go to dinner so I quickly ran inside and opened the box and found the most amazing Alice, I mean Malice in Wonderland! She is awesome and scary and I love her!

Not only did Malice arrive safely but she arrived with the coolest little birdhouse I have ever seen, complete with a base full of eyeballs! So, creepy, cool!

To round off this sweet package of zombie goodness are a set of 3 Halloween ornaments spelling out the word BOO.

Thank you Melinda, Malice is amazing and I just love everything you sent! You made my day!! Soooo, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

My Package Came!!!

This was inclosed.....
Deep in Wonderland, White Rabbit will never be late again for the Queen of Hearts. You see, he lost his head- and found it again and sewed it back on. And he came back, sought his revenge on the Queen, and then settled himself in a patch of colorful mushrooms and ate until his eyes went cross... It was a wonderful trip.... and at the end of his long , strange trip, he noticed his tail was just a tad more colorful!!!!

Bloody nub holding torn fabric cards!
No leg and the stitching around the eyes is all colorful!
 LOOK AT THE TAIL!!!!!
I LOVE it!!! So very awesome Sarah J!! Thank you so much!!! Look at all the sweet tuck-ins she sent too...mmmm. Taffy, candy corn, chocolates and adorable Halloween tissues. What a wonderful partner.

The Hatter is Spectacular!

Mr. Hatter flew in today.  As I drove up to the house, I could see his box thumping across my front porch.  Kaela quickly jumped out to snatch it up before it fell off and into a puddle!

I ripped off the wrapping and....lookie lookie!  The Hatter and lots of goodies....including a handcrafted pumpkin for my Halloween tree.

"The Jabberwocky lost the fight as you can see, and now his leg is a cane for me!"

photo off Debbie's blog

up close and personal......so you can see his one GOOD eye and the bloodied ascot!

Even the stand had Wonderland print on it.......

Debbie, I cannot thank you enough!  You out did yourself and I am so in love with him!!!!!
