I'm Late Posting....But, Ever so Grateful!

Messy Missy was my partner for December and I apologize for being so late in posting the picture and the Thank you for the wonderful package she sent me.

The elf ornament is not just a picture of an elf, but each piece is cut out and put on seperately. Missy also made a really cute bracelet and there is a little elf in one of the squares. Thanks for all of the other goodies and the time you put into making them.

A Gnome Package from an "Angel"

I received an Angel package from our wonderful host, Val.

Val made me the cutest little gnome and a gnome home for him to relax in.

Val also sent me some wonderful goodies. I opened the box and it smelled so good! There is a lavender sachet, Fairy Bath Salts, flower seeds, a bookmark, and some fabric cutouts. Oh there is a container with some little mints in it, but it somehow dissappeared? I wonder if my kids know where it went?? I think so!

Here are the gnome ornaments and gnome trees that I had made for my partner. I got the pattern from Elizabeth's blog, Creative Breathing, and just did a few alterations.

I also made this gnome garland out of felt.

Thank you Val for the wonderful package!

An Elegant Enchanted Snail Package

Michele was my partner for the snail swap and she has an elegance about her and she is very generous! Every month in these swaps I feel so spoiled! Everyone is so generous and so creative in their packages.

Here is the package Michele sent. The cutest little basket and lots of pretty things, including a pretty handmade card from Michele.

the snail that Michele made is so pretty with the lace going down the back and little flowers. The picture doesn't show how pretty the snail really is.

The pretty paper flower, vintage "S", a gorgeous necklace, a snail pill box and a little vintage pill holder. The necklace has a beautiful shell on it.

and a pretty jar filled with odds and ends of lace and pretty edgings.

Thank you Michele for a wonderful swap!
Okay, I just have to include this little bit of coincidental info about me and Michele.

We both have 8 kids and 11 grandkids.

I thought it was kinda neat!

Enchanted Goodness and a Little Plug

I received a nice package from my January partner, none other than Val herself. I love the crocheted acorns and the pinecone ornament is really cute! I can't wait to make a special little tree up for all of my new ornaments! Val also sent me some cute little ladybug cupcake picks and some yummy tea. Thanks Val!!!

Also, I just wanted to do a little plug on my daughter, Mallory's, Valentines Swap for Kids. You just have to send 5 cards to 5 different people and you will receive 5 cards back. They can be store bought, bought and altered or handmade. Just send me an email (sherryreneew@hotmail.com ). Mallory still needs at least 2 more people to participate.

Thanks!!!

An Enchanting Package

I was so surprised when I received a package in the mail the other day and it was from one of my sweet friends, Missy. Missy and I have been blogger friends for over a year now and I have always loved her work.

Missy sent me a beautiful dish towel that she made, some peppermint bark that Missy and her daughters made....and it is really good!!!

Then she sent
the most adorable little fairy doll. She reminds me of the little fairies that were in storybooks when I was little. I LOVE her so much. I have a special spot for her in my china cabinet after Christmas....she is just to pretty to put away!

and hopefully my partner will get my package today.
Here's a little peek at the main ornament.

The BEST package!

I received my package for the ornament swap yesterday. It's from Kim in Utah. She sent me a lovely note on a vintage Christmas card (I didn't get a picture of that) and the most lovely presents! My favorite is this woolen birdie sitting on her nest.

Isn't this little birdie by her house so sweet? That's right, I got not just one....two ornaments!

Tucked into the package was this delicious candy...promptly scarfed up by my teenage children.

Here's a picture of my tree in my kitchen/dining area all done up in reds & aquas. Can you find my little birdies?

Thank you ever so much Kim at Green Honey Hive for the wonderful ornaments and Christmas cheer!
Hugs to everyone, Leslie

What AwtemNymf got :O) . . .

I got my package from my Secret Partner Beth from Words & Whimsies and what a spoiled lil' fae I am! :O)
Lookie:

Wowzers! Enchanting ephemera and whatnots! I love it!
A set of green shamrocks that I think I'll make a Vintage St. Patty's Banner out of. A set of green and white laced paper doilies. An "Erin Go Bragh" banner! Perfect for St. Patty's decorating! And I love anything celtic and Irish! I've some of the blood :O)
Also glittered snowflake ornament, a mini composition book with altered tags "SW" my initials. Perfect for jotting down ideas when I hit those "lightbulb moments". This will come in hand! 2 cute Faerie Wands! I can always use faerie wands- I'm a busy lil' fae! Notepad & post-it's, a gorgeous altered bird with glitter on the papered wings and 'tail'. So sweet. A couple of party blowers- (caute). I got a bag of Candy Corn (nom nom nom) and Autumn Mix (lurrve those pumpkins). Inside the Halloween oriental box is a bag of Pumpkin seeds and a hand-pump-toy jumping spider *lol*. also a bag of yummy pistachios- a great snack while on the comp. A beautiful purple bottle with some glass german glitter inside. Looks like it's magical! The tag on the bottle says "Fairy Dust for... wishes ... dreams... fun!

A close up of the bottle. I absolutely love this! Stunning!

Close up of my enchanted ornament hidden in the bag. . . what's in there? Hmmm

A sweet vintage elf holding a candy cane on a pincushion. He's standing on a bed of faux grass, with glittered acorns at its feet, with olive velvet rick rack, a small snowflake sprinkled here and there! I love this! She must have known my favorite enchanted colors are purple and green!

a Close up of the sweet elf. Look at that happy face!
Beth really outdid herself.
I love my ornament. I have nothing like this and I just adore this!
Then I visited her blog to properly Thank her and wooooaaahhh- what ephemera & vintage & kitschy overload of greatness. She's lucky! She's got beautiful altered pin cushions available at her Etsy shop and she has all kinds of dime store cuteness! I've always wondered how and where people score these things!

Beth- Thank you so much for my Enchanted package. I love my ornament you made me and all the goodies that came with it! I will cherish this and the fairy dust bottle - is special. This will be placed among my "enchanting" keepsakes that I have together!

Ornie Sneak Peak

Here;s the sneak peak at my swap ornament. My Mom always made things from felt with beads and sparklies so I knew immediately that I would do something like that. I've recently become enamored with needle felting so I tried my hand at that too. I sure hope my receiver likes this! I packed some other goodies in too.

Now, I have to confess that I am just today (Tuesday) sending this out. I apologize! I finished the ornie late Saturday afternoon and intended to hit the post office first thing yesterday morning. Life interrupted, in the form of my teenage daughter's appendix. It was removed from her around midnight on Sunday night and we spent all day yesterday at the hospital. She's well on the road to recovery now though.

Merry Christmas everyone and a big thank you to Val for hosting this swap and putting it together!
Love, Leslie

What I've been up to...

Hello fellow echanting crafters! I blogged about the ornament swap on my blog here if you MUST know what I've been up to (I don't have my own WIP pics yet though, I borrowed them, I hope that was okay.). Or you can check out the patterns I'm working on here and here. This swap gave me the perfect excuse to obtain these cute little creatures, create them and share them with someone else!! Of course, both patterns will have a special Christmas-ey twist to them. WHO will they go to?? WHO are they for?? And what special treat will accompany them?? I'm almost done and soon you shall see! (That is if I can get my camera and laptop to communicate better than they have been.)

on its way!!!

I actually had planned on making an embroidered felt bird but then changed my mind and made something a bit more elaborate...a spinner!
It's too long for the tree...best to be hung from the ceiling...

here it is 'spinning' away...it actually kept spinning while I was taking the photos, making it difficult to take them!!!!

one side

and the other...

you can't tell from the photos, but I added little dots of glitter on the letters which is pretty in the light.

To round out her package, I added a true forest occupant...a chocolate lady bug and some hot cocoa goodies!

Enchanted Friends

These are my little enchanted forest friends Christmas ornaments that I made for my partner. Can you guess what they are?

Notice the cute little ornamanet hangers they are hanging from. I made them for her too.

Even my wild holly trees in my enchanted forest were beginning to show their berries and made a cute place to hang them for their picture while they sport their little Santa hats.

and the winner is....

First, cut comments into little strips and put in a cute little bag...

Second, ask husband to put his gigantic hand into the cute little bag and pull out a name...

And.......the winner is:

Congrats Sherry......I'll get your ornie into the mail next week!!!!
